The Chairman of Mariga Local Government Area of Niger State, Hon. Abbas Adamu Kasuwan Garba has assured the people of continued Dividends of Democracy in 2024.
The Council Chairman, Hon. Abbas Adamu gave this assurances during a chat with newsmen recently in Minna
Hon Abbas Adamu said the development of Mariga Local Government Area was the priority of his administration and he will not relent in his effort until it was achieved.
Speaking further, he said that Mariga Local Government Area in the year 2023 under his Leadership executed alot of developmental projects cutting across different sectors such as Education, Water, Youths Empowerment, Healthcare, Security and Social Investment Programmes etc.
According to the Executive Chairman, Educational materials which includes School Desks, Exercises Books and school bags were procured and distributed in their large numbers across Schools in Mariga Local Government Area of Niger State.
He explained further that his administration also sank Boreholes across Mariga Local Government Area while the existing ones which hetherto were not functional got invigorated, to address the shortage of portable water supply.
Consequently, Hon. Abbas narrated how his administration embarked on Social Intervention Programme which includes the payment of Medical bills to the less privileges and the distribution of Food items to the people of Mariga Local Government Area in order to cushion the effect of subsidy removal adding that Youth Empowerment scheme was also addressed by administration in the year 2023.
Responding to the issue of Insecurity in Mariga Local Government Area, Hon. Abbas said” it was quite challenging when he assumed office as the Executive Chairman of the Local Government but with the Support of Governor Bago and other relevant Stakeholders the issue of Insecurity was gradually becoming thing of the past in the Area.
He however assures the people of Mariga Local Government Area that his administration will leverage on the achieved successes in the last one year in order to deliver more dividends of democracy .
