“The Niger State Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries can generate close to # 1 Billion naira annually as IGR if adequately supported by the State Government.”
This assertion was made by a public analysts Mohammed Yusuf during a chat with Newsmen recently in Minna, Niger State.
The public analysts said that there was the need for Niger State Government under the leadership of Mohammed Umar BAGO to explore, exploit and harness the potential in this sector in order to boost the state Internally Generated Revenue.
It would be recalled that base on statistics, Nigerians and Nigerlites spent Billions of Naira annually in the consumption of assorted meats including eggs.
In view of this, the public analysts, Mohammed Yusuf, is of the opinion that BAGO administration should key into the market opportunity to Improve on the State Internally Generated Revenue.
Speaking further, he said the State Government has Agencies and Departments fully equipped to handle the production of Livestocks and Fisheries stressing that effective funding maybe required to carry out their assignments successfully.
He observed that the investment of Bago administration in the Livestocks and Fisheries sector of the State will go along way to create more employment opportunities and also boost the state economy.
He therefore appealed to BAGO administration to poriortize the development of Livestocks and Fisheries sector in his New Niger Agenda.
