The Ministry of works and Infrastructural development under the Leadership of the Honourable Commissioner, Alhaji Umar Suleiman has, in a bold remedial step presented a cash award of the sum of #500,000:00 to Bldr. Dennis Abara, one of the site supervisors at the conversion of an erstwhile Shiroro hotel Minna to a Teaching Hospital for the IBBU Lapai.
The presentation was made by the Director Public Buildings, Arc. Salihu Mohammed Wanigi on behalf of the Ministry on Tuesday , 6/2/2024 at the IBB Specialist Hospital.
It could be recalled that Bldr. Dennis Abara slipped over a pointed concrete boulder while on supervisory duties at the project site on Thursday, 25/1/24 and unfortunately got his left femur (thigh) fractured.
Bldr Dennis was immediately conveyed to the IBB specialist Hospital for medical attention.
Making the presentation at the patient’s hospital bed in the presence of the CMD IBB hospital, Dr. Bala Waziri, Arc. Wanigi disclosed that the some of #300,000:00 was a deposit for the surgery implant scheduled for Wednesday 7/2/24 while #200,000:00 was to the family for logistics in addition to the earlier financial gestures by the permanent Secretary
In a similar gesture, the Project Contractor, Messes ThinkLab Inv. Ltd also donated the sum of #200,000:00 when he visited the Victim at the IBB specialist Hospital.
The Management of IBB Specialist Hospital was however commended for it’s remarkable waivers on medical sundry and also in the area of accommodation for Bldr. Dennis Abara.
Responding on behalf of the family, Mrs Roseline Abara Sarauniyar Gusoro and one time commissioner in Niger state expressed appreciation and commended the effort of the Ministry as well as IBB hospital management for according bldr Abara medical relief, she prayed God for a successful surgery and recuperation.
Otherswhowere present include Mallam Ibrahim Bello of the IBB hospital, the DD. Arch. MOW Arc. Ndako L. Yisaku, Arc. Aliyu Baba Mohammed, the AD. Building, Bldr. Musa Sarki Bello, and the Abara family members.
Meanwhile, the surgery implant has since been conducted successfully.
