The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) have declared 19 people died in a ghastly Motor Accident along Oyo- Ogbomosho Road in Oyo- State on Sunday.
The FRSC Public Education officer , Mr Jonas Agwu, who is the Assistant Corps Marshal ( ACM) confirmed this in statement in Abuja.
Agwu said that the road crash involved a Toyota Hiace Bus registered as NTT52ZY, loaded from Ibadan en route to Sokoto and a Toyota Corolla Saloon Car.
Speaking further, the FRSC Public Education officer said that the crash which occurred at about 7:45 am was due to Route violation, referred to in local parlance as ” one way”.
According to FRSC, ” the report revealed that the 20 people involved in the ghastly motor Accident which was caused by route violation were all Adults.
” Of this number, 19 person were killed, while the only surviving Victimwas rescued by FRSC operatives with injuries.
” FRSC rescue team that conducted the rescue operations have taken the injured victim to Opabode Hospital in Oyo for emergence medical attention.
While the remaining 19 dead bodies have been deposited at Oyo General Hospital Morgues FRSC said.
Agwu quoted the Corps Marshal, Dauda Aliyu Biu is calling on public transport to avoid all incidences that could lead to Road Traffic Crashes.
