The Comptroller- General of the Nigeria Customs Service ( NCS) , Adewale Adeniyi says Nigeria is making progress with Consultations on the reopening of its borders with Benin Republic and Niger Republic.
The Nigeria Customs Boss, disclosed this with State House correspondents in Abuja on Tuesday, after the Inaguration of the National Single Window ( NSW) Project.
Adeniyi said NSW which was earlier inagurated by President Tinubu, is an electronic portal linking all agencies and players in Import and Export processes to an integrated platform.
“It is domiciled at the Federal Inland Revenue Service ( FIRS).”
Speaking further, the Custom Boss said he met with his Benin Republic Counterparts over the weekend fine tune the planned Reopening of the borders.
He emphasized the need for the efficient management of the Country’s borders amid the launch of the single Window Initiative.
The Custom Boss commended President Tinubu for his Commitment to the Nigerian Economy with the launch of Single Window Project.
Earlier, the Nigeria Custom Services asked the Residents and Stakeholders of the illela border Community in Sokoto to abide by regulations ahead of the reopening of the border with Niger Republic.
The Comptroller in charge of Sokoto/ Zamfara area Command, Kamal Muhammad who recently visited the illela border Station said that the decision of the ECOWAS to lift sanctions on Niger Republic translate to the re- opening of the Nation’s Borders
