MOUN CHAIRMAN, NIGER STATE CHAPTER
The Chairman of Motorcycle Operators Union of Nigeria (MOUN) Niger State Chapter, Comr. Shafi Ladan Maishera, has described as unfortunate, the actions of ACCOMORAN STATE CHAIRMAN, Danjuma Sani which constitute a threat to his life and that of is members.
The State Chairman of MOUN , disclosed this during a chat with journalist in Minna recently.
Comr. Ladan said, MOUN does not have a problem with anybody but ACCOMORAN in Niger State was the one creating uneccessary scenario which requires the urgent attention of the Government.
According to him, MOUN was registered by the Ministry of Labour and Productivity on 8th September, 2023 under the Trade Union Congress an affiliate of Nigeria Labour Congress.( NLC)
Subsequently, he said the State House (Presidency) on the 11 Oct. 2023 wrote a letter to NLC Introducing MOUN to them adding that the Niger State Governor, Muhammad Umar Bago also received an official letter confirming him and his members as the State Excos.
Following this development, Comr. Ladan said that the NLC/ TUC in Niger State wrote a letter of the commencement of their operation to the relevant Stakeholders in the State including ACCOMORAN.
On receiving the copy of the Letter, Comr Ladan said the State Chairman of ACCOMORAN Dajuma Sani summoned an emergency meeting of his State Excos where he ordered them to attack any of their members operating within the State.
Speaking further, he said the state Chairman of ACCOMORAN told his boys that whosoever wants to stop them from carrying out the order, should be told that they were on his instruction.
” When did State Chairman of ACCOMORAN become the Executive Governor of Niger State ” Comr.Ladan asked .
” The only constitute Authority in Niger State is that of the Farmer Governor, Muhammad Umar Bago”.
“However, the ban on okada operation remains intact in Niger State but we are seeking a leave of operation in the areas where the ban does not affect.” MOUN Chairman declared.
Responding, the Niger State Chairman of ACCOMORAN, Dajuma Sani said that he has no problem with anybody neither constitute a threat to any agency working within the State but all he wants was due process to be followed.
According to him, it is only Niger State Ministry of Transport that has the constitutional authority to permit MOUN to operate within the State.
“Am not against MOUN neither fighting them but lawless in the Transport sector in which am a stakeholders is not permitted”
” The Niger State chapter of ACCOMORAN under my leadership is focused and determine to contribute their quota towards the realization of the New Niger Agenda of Farmer Muhammad Umar Bago administration.” Dajuma Sani declared.
