Two persons were alleged to have been killed by Nigeria police stray bullet on Tuesday night during a shooting incident at Omisanjuna in Ado- Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.
The Sahara Reporters identified one of the deceased person as Taiwo, a married man who attended Technical College, Ado Ekiti.
According to Sahara Reporters, the police officer who fired the shot was trying to some people who fled to Anti – Kidnapping Squad( AKS) after hitting a Motorbike rider and some others with their Vehicle.
It was learnt that rather than caring for the Victims of their “reckless driving” they went to get some police Personnel to assist them in retrieving their Vehicle from the Accident scene, fearing that eyewitness would prevent from accessing the Vehicle until they had taken the accident victims to the Hospital.
The eyewitness narrated the incident to Sahara Reporters said” A particular Vehicle hit a bikeman and others yesterday night around 8:32 pm and was so serious.
” For the guys who were inside the car that hit the bikeman and others to show concern and care to the victims of their reckless driving, they ran to police ( AKS, Anti- Kidnapping Squad) to come and help them retrieved their Vehicle from the accident scene.”.
” On arrival, people of the Community were so angry and resisted the gesture of the police officers .
Saying the reckless driver care more about his Vehicle than the live of the accident victims.
” The police officers said nobody can tell them what to do ,they must rescue the car by force”.
” This caused alot of noise and police started shooting sporadically to have their way and stray bullets hit two people on the spot. One died instantly, while the whereabouts of the other person remains unknown.
