CHAMPIONS CROWNED AT THE BASIC EDUCATION SCHOOLS SPORT FINALS IN MINNA.

Exciting matches,record-breaking performances and sportsmanship on display as pupils wrap up a fantastic season of the Basic Education Schools sport State finals that took place in Maryam Babangida Girls Science College, Minna.

In his opening remarks,the Executive Chairman of Niger State Universal Basic Education Board, Mallam Muhammad Baba Ibrahim highlights the excitement and achievements of the Basic Education Schools Sport event, showcasing the talents and sportsmanship of the pupils.

“over the past few days, we have witnessed incredible displays of skills, determination,and teamwork. Our pupils have shown us the true spirit of sportsmanship, and we couldn’t be prouder’’ he noted. The Chairman who was represented by the Director Quality assurance, Mallam Bala Mohammed Sai’d reminded them to remember that the true victory lies not in winning or losing, but in the lessons learned, the friendships forged and the memories created.

The Chairman of the occasion and the Honourable Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Hadiza Asabe Mohammed expressed satisfaction with the quality of athletes discovered at their formative age noting that, the Ministry is ever ready to support NSUBEB to groom more future champions at the basic level .

Mallam Garba Asab Abdullahi,the Director test and measurement of the ministry who reprented the Honourable Commissioner congratulated the winners and all the athletes for been part of this memorable event.

In his remarks, the special guest of honour and the Commissioner for Youth and Sport Development who was represented by the Director Youth Development, Mallam Sadisu Barde acknowledged the role of sport to the overall development of a child. Adding that, it is only through this kind of competition that we can unveil the human abundant potentials that we have in Niger State.

“ NIGER SUBEB must be applauded for walking the talk towards the realisation of a NEW NIGER”, he maintained. The commissioner gave the assurance that, his Ministry will continue to collaborate with all the relevant stakeholders in ensuring they explore all the hidden talents at the basic level.

The Director Social Mobilisation who gave the vote of thanks on behalf of NIGER SUBEB underscores the valuable lessons learned by the pupils which includes, discipline,hard work and resilience. She expresses her joy and gratitude to all the guests that makes the event successful.

in a profound manner, she appreciated the coaches and the parents of the pupils, noting that, their tireless efforts in guiding and mentoring the pupils have made a lasting impact on their lives.

At the end of the event, zone B athletes were crowned winners with 10 Golds and overall 21 medals, zone A athletes were the 2nd runner up with 5 Golds and overall 22 medals, while zone C athletes came 3rd with 4 Golds and overall 13 medals
