Following the drinking of homemade liquor in Morocco, eight people have died while dozen of others were hospitalised.
The Health Ministry in Morocco who disclosed this on Wednesday said ” serious complications from poisoning” led to the death of eight people in the town of sidi Allal Tazi, about 100 km north Rabat, the regional directorate reveals.
Though more than 100 people in the town suffered from alcohol poisoning between Monday and Wednesday from consuming methanol, as the health of victims is still being monitored.
Authorities have identified two suspects aged 21 and 41 as those responsible for the bootleg alcohol were among those hospitalised.
Morocco law technically prohibits the sales of alcohol to Muslim who make up 99 percent of the country population.
