The 16th of June, 2024 has been declared by Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar as Eid-el- Kabir.
The sultan of Sokoto disclosed this in a statement on Friday through Sambo Junaid, the Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs to the Sultanate Council.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia had announced the sighting of the Dhul- Hijjah crescent, signalling the beginning of the 12th Islamic Month.
Moreso, the Hajj pilgrimage for 1445 AH- 2024 will commence on Friday, June 14 with the day of Arafah falling on Saturday, June 15.
With this development, Muslim biggest festival Eid Al- Adha will be observed on Sunday June 16, 2024.
