The administration of Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has suspended the State Commissioner for Health over alleged gross misconduct.
The Abia State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Prince Okay Kanu who disclosed this said the suspension is to allow for proper investigation over the issue.
The Information Commissioner added that the Governor’s action is in line with his Zero tolerance policy for misconduct of any kind and strong adherence to the principle of Transparency and Accountability in Governance.
Speaking further he said ” The Abia State Government is commited to good Governance and the rule of law under which person are presumed innocent until he / she is guilty.
Consequently, the administration of Governor Otti is painstaking in investigating and establishing facts of Infraction or misconducts to be uncovered by its Internal monitoring and feedback mechanism.
” In the light of these Development, the Permanent Secretary of Health, Dr. Ifeyinwa Kalu, will collaborate with the Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Dr Mrs. Ngozi Azodo, to run the Affairs of the Ministry pending the outcome of the investigation.
