The Organized Labour appear to have backed down on its demand for #250,000 as the new Minimum wage.

The President of the Trade Union Congress ( TUC) , Festus Osifo said yesterday that there was nothing sacrosanct about the #250,000 adding that Labour was receptive to adjustment.

Although, there was no immediate response from the Federal Government last night on the latest stance of Organized Labour but the senate pledged to grant accelerated consideration and passage of the new Minimum wage bill from the President.

Osifo in his earlier reaction to the FG. and Organized Private Sector ( OPS) agreement on #62,000 as Minimum wage penultimate Friday had said ” For usĀ  (Labour) , we felt that with the current economic hardship and the difficulty in the land, the sum of #250,000 will be okay as the Minimum wage.

Speaking yesterday on Channel Television breakfast programme, “Morning Brief” he said there was no figure that is sacrosanct that both parties will be fixated on it.
