The attack on Ogbaru Local Government Area Headquarters Secretariat by armed arsonists has been condemned by Anambra State Poilce Command.
The Spokesperson of the Command, Tochukwu Ikenga while condemning the attack in a statement made available to newsmen said four patrol Vehicles belonging to the Local Vigilantes were set ablaze by the hoodlums but no casualty was record.
He described the incident as an act of cowardice on the part of the arsonists who according to him, arrived the secretariat in Large numbers on motorcycles and 9 Vehicle before they began to shoot indiscriminately.
The showing of resistance from the Vigilantees and quick response of the State Police patrol team, led to the fleeing the scene by the hoodlums after setting- four Vehicle ablaze.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations was said to have led a Joint Security Team to the scene for an on the spot assessment with the aim of arresting the culprits.
