GOV. ODODO BANS TRADITIONAL PROCESSION IN KOTON-KARFE

Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State has banned the traditional procession in Koton- Karfe Local Government Area of the State for security reasons.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Mr Kingsely Fanwo on Tuesday in Lokoja.

Fanwo revealed that security reports indicated that all was not well in the Koton-Karfe Community, following the alleged plans by some people to formet trouble in the area.

Speaking further, he said that the ban was aimed at maintaining peace in Koton-Karfe and its environs.

Governor Usman Ododo however Reiterated his administration’s commitment to peaceful conversation among all the Koton-Karfe people.

He will always leave his doors opens to listen to complains and grievance rather than resort to violence” Fanwo revealed.

Earlier, the former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello on January 8 removed Alhaji ABDULRAZAQ ISAH – KOTO as the Olumege- Igu Koton-Karfe.

Isah Koto was then the Chairman of the Lokoja/ Koton-Karfe traditional Council, he was removed and disposed to Rijau Local Government Area of Niger State and replaced by Alhaji Saidu Akawa sailihu
