A man Identified as Ojo Ayegbusi has been convicted and sentenced by Ekiti State High Court to Life Imprisonment for raping a 15 years old girl.
The defendant who committed the offence on Nov 11.2020 at Ikere Ekiti was charged with the offence of rape.
“The Innocent Victim of the rape was coming from School when she was accosted by the defendant who lured her into his room and had carnal knowledge of her.
” Although, the Victim could not tell anybody of her horrible experience but the father eventually found out when the girl collapsed at home and was rushed to hospital.
The defendant was however arrested and arranged in Court.
The offence of rape according to the Director of Public Prosecution in Ekiti, is contrary to section 31(2) of the child’s Right Law, Cap Laws of Ekiti State, 2012″
Ajibare, who prosecuted the case for Ekiti State, called five witnesses and tendered three exhibits in Support of the case.
In the Judgement, Justice John Adeyeye held that” the prosecution proved the offence of rape against the defendant beyond reasonable doubt”.
The Court however convicted the defendant and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
