In her remarks at the International Federation of Women Lawyers, FIDA, Nigeria: 2nd Quarter NEC, pre-convention meeting in Kano, with the theme: ‘Ensuring Access To Justice For Indigent Women and Children in Nigeria,’ Justice Aboki, emphasized that a special court is needed to address the emerging challenges, which includes, gender violence, rape and child abuse.

Justice Aboki reminded FIDA that their efforts are required more than ever before, in the face of the challenges to give hope to the vulnerable ones.

She said, “We are working to ensure gender-based violence is being tackled, which is why the request for creating a single court to ensure speedy dispensation of justice against perpetrators is accorded due and quick attention by the government.

Furthermore, Justice Dije Aboki disclosed that Kano is currently collaborating with UNICEF to ensure girls have access to quality education as well as tackle women-based gender-based violence and child abuse.

The Vice President of FIDA, Nigeria, Amina Abaji, said women in the association have become beacons of hope and sources of inspiration, noting that the gathering will pave the way for the development of justice, and the protection of women and children’s rights.

She celebrated Kano for joining the league of states that signed the Child Rights Act, signifying the efforts to strengthen their rights.
