Following the attack on the convey of Senator Monday Okpebholo, the All Progressives Congress candidate in the September 21 Governorship election in Edo State, the Campaign Council of the APC gubernatorial candidate has called for the sack of Commissioner of Police in Edo State for allegedly compromising the security situation in the state.
The Media Director of the APC Campaign Council, Prince Kasim Afegbua made this known at a press briefing in Benin City, the Edo State capital.
The APC Campaign Council Media director alleged that the state Commissioner of police, CP Funsho Adegboye watched helplessly while thugs allegedly loyal to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Edo State unleashed mayhem on the good people of Edo state.
He however called on the Inspector General of Police and other relevant security agencies to immediately commence investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the sporadic shooting which led to the death of a police inspector with several persons injured.
Responding, the State Commissioner of police, CP Funsho Adegboye denied the allegations, saying he was not at the airport when the incident happened.
