An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) has exploded at the Buni Yadi market in the Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.
The explosion which occurred around 12:30 pm on Friday, caused panic among the residents and traders.
Ali Hassan, a resident of Buni, told Channels Television that a girl was injured in the blast.
Captain Muhammad Shehu, the spokesman for the Sector 2 Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai, confirmed the incident and provided additional details.
He stated that a second Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was found in the market and successfully detonated by the Army, preventing further harm.
Fortunately, the sole victim of the initial explosion is receiving medical treatment at a healthcare facility in Buni Yadi.
