A stern warning to criminals and the general public to refrain from engaging in any activities that could disrupt the peace in the state has been issued by Nigerian Police Force, Osun State Command.
This warning comes in response to the planned Cult Day Celebration scheduled for August 8.
The State Police PRO, Yemisi Opalola in a statement released on Wednesday revealed that the police have received reliable intelligence suggesting that certain cult groups intend to mark the “8/8″ celebration on Thursday.
Stressing that the command will not tolerate any actions that compromise public safety and urged individuals to desist from participating in such activities.
“In addition, the police command is also using this medium to notify the general public upon credible intelligence received that some groups of cultists are planning to mark August 8, 2024 to celebrate cultism. ” She added
“In view of this, the command therefore warns cultists and other unscrupulous elements in the state to jettison the plan or any of such action(s) forthwith as the command is earnestly monitoring their activities.
“Finally, the Osun State Police Command further appeals to members of the public to be vigilant and give prompt and actionable information in case of any infraction of the law. If you see something; Say something and be security conscious to enjoy a safe Osun Osogbo Festival.”
