NGO GRADUATES ANOTHER BATCH OF WOMEN AND YOUTHS TRAINED ON SKILLS ACQUISITION IN MINNA

Millennium Africa Global Initiative(MAGI) has graduated another batch of 100 youths and women on various skills acquisition Programme, with a theme “Catch them young”.

The event which attracted dignitaries, parents and philanthropists held at Emir of minna’s palace.

While addressing the gathering, the National Coordinator of the Millennium Africa Global Initiative (MAGI) Amb.Marshall Okoro said the organization has so far trained about 15000 youths and women in skill acquisition and entrepreneurship from 2016 to date.

 

He said the organization is graduating another batch of 100 beneficiaries in honour to the emir of Minna, who started there training since July on Catering, Computer, cobbling. Cosmetology, and pos

Marshall Okoro explained that the training is to contribute its quarter which was aimed at getting youths and women to be self reliant as well shun criminals tendencies and begging on the streets.

He however appreciated the Minna emirate council for the collaboration.

In his part ,the Managing Director of National Hydro Power Producing Areas Development Commission, N-HYPPADEC, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa, who was represented Mr Aminu Kandi Mohammed, emphasized the need for the youths to be economically reliance to avoid been used by politicians for their selfish gains especially as instruments for thuggery and other negative tendencies in the society and alao applauded the NGO for the foresight noting that this will go along way in reducing street begging, restiveness prevalent amongst the youths.

He urged the graduands to be good ambassadors who will be fruitful and productive to themselves and the society.

He promised to continue supporting Millennium Global Initiative, to see how they can sponsor some of the youth and women in the state in their next batch training of the organization.

Also speaking,the guest of honour of the occasions. Hon. S.D mambo the board Chairman of Magi who was also represented by Hon. Abdullah Aliyu MAGI BOARD MEMBER said that the training will go along way to complement government efforts as white collar jobs is no longer available for everyone and urged youths in the country to take advantage.

Mambo therefore advised the trainees to desist from crimes for survival and urged the beneficiaries to make useful of the skill they learn to be self reliant and ensure they pass same skills to others hence to be entrepreneurs.

Speaking at the ceremony,the chairman of munya local government council,Hon. Aminu Negume appreciated MAGI for organizing the training program and self reliant projects for women and Youths in the state,Noting that cultural heritage is our identity, and youth base organization of this kind deserves to be reckoned with.

The chairman support the organization with 40 pos terminals with 50000 each, and presented 20 scholarship to 20 people to attend school of health in minna also give a hot pot to the best catering students and that Magi should start the second batch of 100 youth in his local government this week

Some of the beneficiaries, who enrolled for catering, computer, said that they took part in the program to build themselves professionally. and expressed their appreciation to the NGO for coming to their aid
