ARAFAT DOOR TO DOOR SUPPORT FARMER MOHAMMED UMAR BAGO’S ADMINISTRATION
The Executive Governor of River State, Siminalayi Fubara has directed his loyalists across the 23 Local Governments Areas of the state to contest the forthcoming with Local Government elections under the banner of the All People’s Party (APP).
The River State Governor made this decision after losing control of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) structure in the State to Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory ( FCT) as well as former Governor of the State.
The significant control of the PDP structure in the state by Wke, causing friction between the two leaders.
With the local government elections fast approaching, this move is expected to reshape the political dynamics in Rivers State.
The APP previously is a lesser-known party in the region, now stands to gain considerable traction, backed by the governor and the incumbent local government chairmen.
The local government elections are scheduled for October 5, 2024.
