The impending imbroglio between Niger State Government and the West African Examination Council, WAEC, is a carry- over effect from the previous administration of the State.
It could be recalled that the present administration of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello on assumption of office in 2015, inherited the debts which has not only been grappled with but has been managed till date.
The initial volume which was #700,000,000:00 has passed through several stages of negotiation as government kept servicing is appreciably defrayed, an effort that should attract the understanding of WAEC on the matter.
That government is making a concerted efforts to pay up the debt is enough collateral and willingness to abide by the previous agreement going by the Spirit of government being a continuous process, which WAEC should reciprocate.
Unfortunately, such sense of reasoning has been concessioned to the detriment of togetherness and progressive partnership.
It is imperative to note however, that the action of WAEC, withholding results of students of public schools in the state is synonymous with destruction of the students’ future.
What is the rational in this case, is a recurring perseverance of the Examination Council to sustain partnership against all odds.
Otherwise, the spirit of nationalism is at stake. After all, Governments at all levels in Nigeria should be seen working towards the same goal.
Therefore, it becomes instructive for both parties, especially,WAEC  to respect agreements that were hitherto entered into with a view to securing the education of our younger ones.
Non -the- less, it should be on records that relevant authorities in the State, particularly, the Honorable Commissioner of Education, Hajiya Salamatu Jibrin Salihu are working relentlessly to resolve the differences.
Interesting too, it is notable that just of recent, that is after the last agreement Government, has been  able to part pay the debt to the tune of #90,000,00:00 even as the sum of 400,000,00 was earlier paid between 2015 and 2019 bringing total payment to the sum of #490,000,000:00.
It is  in view of these efforts that Government would  be exonerated for any passived inaction that led to the withholding of the result by the examination body.
Remember that in any circumstances  (s), to be brothers’ keepers is only human but also Godly.
