The Former Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje has gotten a seven-day ultimatum to resign as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The ultimatum was issued by Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, a prominent member and Chairman of the North-Central APC Forum in Jos, Plateau State.
He explained that Ganduje, who comes from the North-West, should not be in charge since the party had decided that the leadership role should go to someone from the North-Central zone, specifically Nasarawa State.
He stated that Ganduje’s continued leadership goes against Article 31.5 of the APC Constitution and harms the internal democracy the party values. Many party members are unhappy about this situation, which has caused divisions within the group.
Zazzaga warned that if Ganduje does not resign within the week, he may take legal action.
He has also reached out to key party leaders, including President Bola Tinubu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, indicating that this issue is being taken seriously at the highest levels of the APC.
