A non-governmental organisation, Aliyu Zakiru Foundation, has made a significant impact by empowering more than 5000 primary pupils across Wushishi Local Government Area of Niger State,as part of efforts to reach out to the less privileged in the society.
The symbolic distribution ceremony which attracted teachers, parents and dignitaries from within and outside the state,held at Madibbo model Islamic school, Wushishi.
The Aliyu Zakiru foundation in its benevolence gesture,distributed essential items to the pupils, including books, Uniforms as well as PTA fees to numerous pupil cut across Wushishi Local Government Area as a way of give back to the society.
While flagging off the distribution, CEO and managing Director(MD) Aliyu zakiru foundation, Honourable Aliyu zakiru said the initiative aims to support and encourage children from less privileged backgrounds.
Alliyu Zakiru expressed that numerous people in Wushishi have already benefited in one way or the other including scholarships for students in tertiary institutions from the foundation.
He emphasised that this effort was intended to alleviate the impact of the current economic situation.
Honorable Aliyu maintained that he decided to remember where he came from and as a phylanthropist he discovered that every child needs to be loved.
He called on the government to allocate funds effectively to address the needs of the underprivileged.
Also speaking, the local government NUT chairman, comrade Muhammad Idris Said gesture like this can encourage the child to go back to school and increase their enthusiasm.
Comrade Idris encouraged the initiator of the program to keep on doing the good work he has started.
He appealed to affluent individuals and corporate entities to continue assisting those in need within society.
Graced the ceremony, Niger state Director General Almajiri , Alhaji Ibrahim Aminu,commended the initiator of foundation,stressing that this will go along way to assist the parents.
The ceremony featured presentation of Award of Excellence to Hon.Aliyu Zakiru by Arewa youths.
