Agricultural Graduates Association of Nigeria (AGAN) has promised to continue executing programmes that would compliment the Agricultural policies of both Niger State and Federal Government in achieving Food Security.
The AGAN coordinator, Alhaji Hussaini Iliyasu disclosed this in a statement during the symbolic presentation of agricultural inputs to smart Farmers, in a side event of the 10th edition of Nutritious Food Fair recently held at Legbo Kutigi International Conference Centre Minna.
He explained that the smart Farmers have been trained and equipped with knowledge of effective use of Agricultural Inputs to fast tracked the development of Agriculture across Niger State.
The AGAN coordinator whose was represented by the Technical Adviser AGAN, Abdulsalam Mohammed described the distribution of the Agricultural inputs, as the right steps towards promoting Food Security in Niger State and Nigeria at large.
Speaking Further, he described AGAN as a valuable association that has done a lot in the area of training and re-training of Nigerian Farmers especially on Extension Entrepreneurship using ICSS and E- Extension, elaborating that ICSS stood for Innovate, Create, Start and Scale being a modular course offered by Giz.
According to him, the main objectives of AGAN was to mobilised farmers towards production, Agro business Investment and Preparation of knowledge based Farming for sustainable agriculture adding that these has been achieved since the creation of AGAN in 2005.
Taking cognizance of relevance and the importance of tri-circle farming to the development of Agriculture, he urged the beneficiaries of the smart equipments to use them for all season Farming.
