Following the recent comments of the former President, Olusegun Obasanjo doubting the functionality of Nigeria refineries, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has invited the former President to visit the Port Harcourt Refinery.

The Chief Corporate Communications Officer, NNPCL’s Mr. Olufemi Soneye, offered President Obasanjo the chance to tour the refinery.

Soneye said that the refinery had undergone extensive rehabilitation, far beyond previous turnaround maintenance to a complete overhaul.

He however appealed to the former President ( Olusegun Obasanjo) to join NNPCL’s efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s energy security.

It will be recalled that Obasanjo in his earlier statement doubted functionality of Nigeria refineries adding that the NNPCL was just trying to decieve Nigerians.

“We invite our esteemed former president to join us in this effort as we continue to deliver energy security for our nation and provide tangible benefits to Nigerians.

“His wisdom and experience are invaluable, and we assure him that his advice will always be welcomed and appreciated,” NNPCL declared.
