A notorious bandit leader, Kachalla Dogo Isah who was responsible for a series of brutal attacks in Kaduna State, has been reportedly killed in a violent confrontation with a rival faction of repentant bandits.
The clash reportedly occurred in Kachia Forest on January 7, 2025, when Dogo Isah and his gang attempted to rustle cattle from a camp led by the repentant bandit leader, Kachalla Musa.
The conflict between the factions however escalated quickly, resulting in Dogo Isah’s death, according to Zagazola Makama, a security analyst and counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad area, who shared the information on his X handle.
Dogo Isah was infamous for his reign of terror in Kachia and parts of Kajuru local government areas, where he and his gang wreaked havoc on local communities.
He was also the cousin of Tukur Sharme, another prominent bandit leader, who was killed in a similar fratricidal clash in September 2024.
Zagazola reported that the confrontation leading to Dogo Isah’s death occurred when he and two of his gang members were killed during a gunfight with the group led by Kachalla Musa.
It will be recalled that Kachalla Musa recently agreed to a peace initiative from the government and security agencies in Kaduna State, following a meeting with local stakeholders in Tsohon Gaya village, Chikun LGA.
The offer was extended to Dogo Isah, but he refused to accept it and continued his criminal activities, including cattle rustling and violent assaults.
Although, Dogo Isah’s death is being viewed as a major blow to insurgent activities in Kaduna, it has sparked concerns among the members of Kachalla Musa’s recently repentant group.
