The Niger State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has foiled a daring burglaries and phone snatching , with several suspects apprehended while others are still at large.
The Commandant of NSCDC Niger State Command, Commandant Adamu Abdullahi Kambra who disclosed this in a press statement made available through the command Public Relations Officer,DSC Abubakar Rabiu Muti, said on December 27, 2024, at approximately 4:30 A.M four suspects broke into a residential house along Sauka Ka Huta area in Minna.
Speaking further, he said the suspects threatened the occupant, demanded for money but ended up going away with various items, including Electronics Plasma television, laptop computer, Food Items as well as cash amounting to #3450 etc.
The Operation Flush team of NSCDC was said to however carried out arrest of the Suspects.
In a related development, the NSCDC Commandant said that two suspected phone snatchers were also arrested on December 31, 2024, at approximately 22:30 hours,
According to the NSCDC, “a young lady was returning from Bosso after attending a church service. The lady was accosted by two individuals along Stadium Junction, near Unguwan Daji area in Minna.
The suspects are however cut red- handed with knives used to threaten their victim who was just returning from Church
Commandant Adamu Abdullahi however maintained that as soon as investigations are concluded, all the suspects will be prosecuted.
He however use the medium to warn those involved in criminal activities to desist and allow peace to reign. Emphasizing on the need for the public to report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
The Commandant express gratitude to the Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR and the Governor of Niger State, Farmer Mohammed Umar Bago, for their continuous support. “The Command remains committed to maintaining law and order in the state.”
However, the four suspects arrested include Usman Ibrahim, Jibrin Muhammad and others, while Baba Alhaji and Dan Birnin- Gwari is at large .
