NSHA SPEAKER APPLAUDS CLERK OF THE HOUSE FOR INNOVATIVE TRAINING INITIATIVE

The Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Barr. Dr. Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkin-Daji, has expressed his profound appreciation and admiration for the Clerk of the House, Mall. Farouq Umar Isah, for organizing a groundbreaking one-day induction and capacity training workshop for Committee Clerks. 

This pioneering event, held at the Assembly Complex in Minna, marks a significant milestone in the Assembly’s commitment to capacity building and staff development.

The Speaker commended the Clerk for his foresight and creativity in conceptualizing this initiative, which is the first of its kind in the Assembly’s history. He praised the Clerk’s ability to build a synergistic relationship with members of the 10th Assembly and expressed his gratitude for the Clerk’s dedication to collaborative work.

The Speaker pledged the Assembly’s continued support, offering a generous donation of #5 Million to facilitate future training programs, including a proposed workshop in Abuja or outside the state.

In his welcome remarks, the Clerk of the House, Mall. Farouq Umar Isah, thanked the Speaker, leadership, and members of the 10th Assembly for their attendance and support. He emphasized that the training program aims to equip Committee Clerks and parliamentary staff with fundamental knowledge of parliamentary practices and procedures, ultimately enhancing their effectiveness in serving the Assembly.

The Head of Service of Niger State, Engr. Abubakar Sadiq Idris, represented by Mrs. Joana D. Pada, Permanent Secretary, Human Resources, congratulated the Speaker and Clerk on this innovative initiative. She highlighted the importance of training in unlocking human potential and encouraged participants to leverage the knowledge gained, particularly in ICT.

The Chairman of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), Comrade Mohammed Sanusi Salis, commended the Speaker and Members of the 10th Assembly for making this training a reality, a dream the association had been pursuing for over a decade. He expressed hope for future training opportunities outside the State.
