A notorious bandit leader, Hamisu Mopol has been killed by Security Force in Katsina during a gun battle near the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) permanent site.
The operation according to a post on Tuesday by security analyst Bakatsine on X, was carried out by officers of the Dutsin-Ma Police Division on Monday afternoon.
The encounter reportedly occurred during a routine patrol when the officers clashed with Mopol’s gang in the outskirts of the town.
Hamisu Mopol, identified as the son of Hajiya Lamiso, a woman frequently accused by locals of harboring bandits was killed in the shootout.
As of press time, Katsina State Police Command had not issued an official statement regarding the incident.
