The Niger State House of Assembly has reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) to enhance the skills and competencies of its staff. This commitment was underscored by the Clerk of the Assembly, Mall. Farouq Umar Isah, during a courtesy visit by the Area Manager of ITF, Engr. Dr. Uhuami Abdulwahab (MNSE), and his management team to his office at the Assembly Complex in Minna.

Mall. Isah expressed appreciation for the visit and assured that the Assembly would continue to partner with ITF to expand their existing cordial relationship and sharpen the skills of staff members. “We look forward to working closely with the Industrial Training Fund to enhance the capacity of our staff and drive effective service delivery,” he stated.

In his remarks, Engr. Dr. Uhuami Abdulwahab highlighted ITF’s mandate as Nigeria’s premier skill development agency, established in 1971 to drive human capital development. He emphasized that ITF is poised to provide critical interventions, including employability and entrepreneurship training, as well as capacity-building programs to enhance workforce competencies.

Engr. Abdulwahab expressed enthusiasm about potential partnership areas, particularly in skills development for legislative staff and other stakeholders under the Niger State House of Assembly. “We are eager to collaborate with the Office of the Clerk to discuss strategies for partnership and capacity building that will benefit the Assembly’s staff,” he said.

The proposed partnership aims to leverage the strengths of both institutions to develop a robust pool of skilled manpower capable of meeting the dynamic needs of Nigeria’s economy.
