Desk Officers of the Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board have been called  upon to engage in aggressive sensitization of intending pilgrims on the dangers of absconding while on Pilgrimage. 
The Executive Secretary, Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Umar Makun Lapai made the call during an interaction with newsmen shortly after a meeting with the staff of the Board in Minna recently. 
Makun Lapai said intending Pilgrims to Jerusalem and Makkah are expected be Ambassadors of the Country and the State which they represent stressing that absconding was a crime that must be shunned to avoid losing rights and privileges of citizen. He appealed to them to see their visits to the Holy Lands as a spiritual visit that has a timeline emphasising that there was no place like home. 
The Executive Secretary explained that the meeting with the Staff of the Board was convened to appraise the challenges and successes recorded during the just concluded 2022 Hajj Operation including presentation of the two awards of Heroes of 2022 Hajj which he received from Independent Hajj Reporters and Crusaders Radio, Niger State.
 
He appreciated the media and Journalists in the State for the significant role they play to the success of Hajj operations and therefore, reaffirmed commitment to recording a hitch free future exercises.
