The police Command in Imo State have arrested no fewer than seven suspects over an “attempted terrorist attack” in the Oguta Council.
The command’s spokesman, Henry Okoye said they were arrested at Sabbath Mission Church in Nkwesi Oguta LGA where Temple Igwe, a suspected IPOB/ESN commander, was planning terrorist attacks
Speaking Further, He said three of the suspects — Okechukwu Olumba, Arinze Olumba, and Olumba Chukwuebuka — are brothers from Isu LGA of the state.
The police also arrested 62-year-old Chukwudifu Anele from Akwa in Oguta LGA for his alleged involvement in terrorism.
However the Imo State Police Command spokesperson said two pump action guns, one single barrel gun, two locally made pistols, twenty-five rounds of live cartridges, various denominations of Biafran currencies, one live tortoise, one live crocodile and various criminal charms were recovered from the suspects.
He said the suspects made statements that would help arrest other members of the gang.
“They have all made important confessional statements that will aid the police apprehend their fleeing gang members”, he said.
