An unspecified number of residents were said to have been Kidnapped by Bandits on Wednesday morning in Akwando Community in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The Bandits who started their attack from Market area downward were reported to have burnt a house and two shops in their operation that lasted for hours.

A resident of the community, Jonathan Aminu, in a telephone interview with The PUNCH, said three people who were injured during the Bandits attack that started some minutes after midnight are receiving treatment in the hospital.

“Three were injured, and many residents were kidnapped. They also burnt one house and two shops during their attack. Those injured as I speak are in the hospital.” Jonathan declared.

.The Kaduna police command’s spokesperson, Mansir Hasan, could not be reached for comment as of the time of filing this report.

Calls to his number were not picked up, and he has yet to respond to a text message sent to him on the incident.
