The largest town Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State has been ransacked by bandits, as they killed about nine people and abducted 50 others mostly women and children.
A source who spoke to Daily trust on the condition anonymity said the attackers in their large numbers operated for several hours unchallenged.
” The marabound terrorist who operated around 10 pm on Saturday till about 2.30 am on Sunday burnt down 10 houses, 15 shops and at least nine Vehicles.
” What happened was that some traders are returning from Yantumaki Market on Friday in a convey of 30 vehicles with military escourt, are expected to pass the night in Danmusa because they could not proceed to Maidabino due to there encounter with the Bandits along the way”
Although, the Military escort killed some of the bandits but others were forced to mobilize themselves in their large numbers from Zamfara and other places to the extent that Soldiers that are in Maidabino could not avert the attack.
Police spokesman in the Katsina State Command, Asp. Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, who confirmed the Incident said investigation was still ongoing.
