CLARIFICATION ON ALLEGED APPOINTMENT LETTER CIRCULATING ON SOCIAL MEDIA: NIGER GOVT. SAYS APPOINTMENT LETTER FAKE, FALSE, FABRICATED, BEARS NO AUTHENTICITY

The Office of the Secretary to the Government of Niger State wishes to bring to the attention of the public a fake letter currently circulating on various social media platforms.

A statement issued by Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman explained that the fraudulent document purports to announced the appointment of one Alhaji Mohammed Rabiu Daja as Sarkin Yakin Zone C by Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, Governor of Niger State was a complete fabrication and bears no authenticity whatsoever.

The statement categorically stated that the letter is entirely false and fabricated and the office of the SSG denied issuing the appointment letter.

The statement revealed that the SSG has neither signed nor issued any such appointment letter. The misinformation is a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and create confusion within our traditional institutions.

According to the statement, “The circulating letter is fake and holds no official validity, no appointment of Sarkin Yakin Zone C has been made by the State Government and official appointments are communicated through proper Government channels”.

The State Government urged the public to disregard this false information and to always verify news from official Government sources, stressing that Government remains committed to transparency and will continue to communicate all official appointments through appropriate channels, the statement added.

The statement disclosed that Government is always committed to transparency and will continue to communicate official appointments and decisions through proper and verifiable channels.

Alhaji Usman appreciates the public’s vigilance in bringing this matter to the attention of Government while encouraging the continued cooperation of all and sundry in combating the spread of misinformation.

The statement divulged that legal action will be taken against those responsible for creating and spreading this false information.
