The All Progressives Congress ( APC) in Cross River State has refuted the claims of behind the N12.5bn constituency fund petition against Agom Jarigbe, the senator representing the Northern Senatorial District of the State.
The State party Chairman, Alphonsus Eba who disclosed this to Newsmen on Monday warned members against engaging in unauthorised legal actions in the name of the party.
“The said petitions which was written against the senator representing Cross- River North Senatorial District on the issue of the N12.5bn constituency fund is not from us and we dissociate ourselves fully from it,” the state APC Chairman, said on Tuesday.
According PUNCH reports, the APC on Monday declared its intention to unseat Jarigbe of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2027 general elections.
Though the party expressed dissatisfaction over the petition allegedly filed by some concerned APC stakeholders in Northern Cross River.
“On no account should anybody in the name of our party engage any lawyer for any purpose that seems to give an impression that this party is behind it.” Eba warned
He reaffirmed the party’s endorsement of Governor Bassey Otu and the Deputy Governor, Peter Odey, as the party’s sole candidates for the 2027 gubernatorial election.
