FGC MINNA HAILS TINUBU’S SKILL ACQUISITION POLICY ON BASIC SCHOOLS

The Principal of Federal Government College (FGC) Minna, Niger state, Alhaji Sirajo Dardau, has commended President Tinubu’s administration for introducing 15 vocational skills into Nigeria’s primary and secondary school curriculum. 

According to him, this move would create employment opportunities, boost productivity, and foster a generation of skilled young Nigerians equipped with entrepreneurship ideas.

Sirajo,explained that the new curriculum overhaul recognizes that academic scores alone are not enough in today’s fast-paced world. Instead, young Nigerians need to acquire practical skills to survive and thrive.

The 15 vocational skills include Tilling, Plumbing, Satellite Installation, GSM repairs, Carpentry, Bakery, and Robotics, among others.

These skills are designed to align Nigeria’s education system with the demands of industrialization. By introducing these skills at the basic education level, Nigeria can produce proficient graduates who are job creators in various trades, ” the Principal FGC noted. 

Sirajo further maintained that the initiative will be remembered as one of President Tinubu’s notable achievements in overhauling the education system.

He then urged parents and guardians to embrace the new curriculum, which has the potential to reposition Nigeria for greatness.
