The Imo state APC have announced the opening of sale for forms ahead of Local Government Election.
The party pegs Councilorship form at N1m, Chairmanship N3m for all interested individuals and party members for the office of Councillor and Council chairman.
It will be recalled that on Thursday, the supreme court ruled that the Federal Government should henceforth pay allocations directly to local government councils from the Federation Account
Meanwhile,the apex court also ordered the federal government to withhold allocations of LGAs governed by unelected officials appointed by the governor.
The seven-member panel of justices held that state governments have continued to abuse their powers by retaining and using the funds meant for LGAs.
The decision of the supreme Court on local government automy might likely be the factor behind the quick planning for local government electtion in the state.
