ISLAMIC COUNSELLING, KEY TO SUCCESSFUL MARRIAGE–FOWAN

The needs for married couples who have marital problems to obtained Islamic counseling following the injunctions of the Quran and Hadith in order to live a life that will lead them to paradise has been stressed.

The Islamic schoolar Abdullahi Abu Saiyan attributed lack of proper understanding of what lslam says about marriage as the reason why we have many broken homes in the society adding that Marriage Counseling serves as a valuable investment in the foundation of a lasting and healthy marriage for muslims.

The Islamic Scholar appeals to Intending couples to seek counseling before tying the knot.

Pointing out that this will promoting their communication, understanding, and conflict-resolution skills.
“Counseling helps couples to explore and cross areas of tension that encourage them to make a more informed and harmonious union.” Abdullahi Abu Saiyan declared.

He added that Counseling in real life can help to illustrate the transformative power of healthy relationship management and it encourages the individuals to approach marriage with an increased sense of self-awareness and interactive skills.

The Amirah fomwan Niger State chapter Hajiya Kulu Abdullahi also called on couples to understand what marriage is all about and understand what the Quran and Hadith says about marriage expecially the women who need to understand more and practice the taught by Prophet Muhammed SAW at their matrimonial homes.

Also Speaking the Chairperson, Marriage Counselling Committee, said the commencement of the Marriage Counselling and Premarital Training will strengthen couplesto know what is right and wrong in the affairs of marriage.

She call on people to seek more knowledge on the importance of happy home as FOMWAN will put in place structure that will educate on divorce and other marital issues to ensure a happy married life.

However, the former permanent secretary Ministry of women affairs Niger State Katun Dauda rufai has expressed willingness to partner with FOMWAN and urged both men and women to exhibit good conduct by following the injunctions of the Quran and Hadith in order to live a life that will lead them to paradise.

Participants at the event said organizing such lectures become necessary considering the prevailing circumstances in the society where most marriages got broken even at the few days after wedding.
