The Joint Task Force( JTF) has uncovered over 50 illegal Crude- oil refining sites in Biseni area of Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
The JTF commander, John Okeke, disclosed on Sunday that illegal refining of stolen Crude- oil was taking place in each of the sites.
Although, no arrests were made but the JTF commander urged public- spirited persons in the area to Volunteer useful information that would help in stemming the tide of the illegal Business as the JTF cannot do it alone.
He therefore assured that the JTF would continue to chase after the oil thieves to do what he described as clearance operation.
Also, uncovered in the area was a large open pit dug by the oil thieves to store stolen Crude- oil from where it is distributed to their refining sites.
“We are not going to relent, it is a work in progress. We will not get tired, we will continue.”
” The Government needs revenue for developmental purpose, that is why we have taken it as a force to continue with this battle and we will not relent. JTF commander declared.
