In a bid to hasten and conclude  the negotiation with the Tripartite Committee on the new National Minimum wage, the organized labour has reduced it’s minimum wage demand to #500,000 from #615,000.

A source at the meeting told Vanguard that the Government team is adamant about #54,000 complaining of Non- availability of Funds and the inability of the private sector to pay.

Though the private sector is said to have made an additional #3000 taking up the new minimum wage offer to#57,000 from the initial #54,000.

“Even the 2019 minimum wage has not been fully implemented across the board.”

It is on this that the Government Team appealed to the Organized Labour to accept the payable minimum wage proposed

” On the shifting of ground by the Organized labour, the source said” Labour has been requested by the Government to shift in response. The Labour complied and came down to #500,000.
