The Story of Banditry in the Northern Nigeria can not be completed without mentioning Mariam’s bravery and the terrifying ordeal she endured in the den of the Bandits.
It will be recalled that Mariam was ambushed and Kidnapped by bandits in Jibia, Katsina State, forced to watch as four people were brutally murdered in front of her.
But Mariam refused to give up. Despite being ordered to lie down and await her own death, she stood up and defied her attackers. Even when struck by a cutlass, she found the strength to escape.
There is no doubt about it, Mariam’s story is a testament to the human spirit’s ability to persevere in the face of evil. Let’s honor her courage and resilience by sharing her story.
