A passionate appeal has been made to the Executive Governor of Niger State, Farmer Mohammed Umar Bago by the concerned Muye Sons and Daughters (CMSD), for executive intervention into the lingering royal tussle between the Amana Kakada Muye and the Lapai Emirate Council in Niger State.

Speaking on behalf of the Concerned Muye Sons and Daughters while briefings newsmen in Minna at the weekend, Comrade Abdulkareem Mustapha disclosed that the peaceful co-existence hitherto enjoyed over the years by communities of Muye and the environs has been eroded as a result of the ongoing crisis.

Buttressing the claim concerning the conflict and disagreement in the community, the concerned sons and daughters  of Muye happed on a petition against Commissioner of Police in Niger State Cp. Ebenezer Shawulu Danmaman and the Commissioner for Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Niger State , Hamidu Jantabo , Emir of Lapai Engr Umar Bago Tafida as well as Executive Chairman Lapai local Government Area, Mohammed Musa Kirikpo.

Comr. Mustapha highlighted key figures mentioned in the petition, including State Commissioner of Police, CP Ebenezer Shawulu, and Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy, Jantabo Mu’azu, whom they accuse of exacerbating the situation leading to the arrest of Amana of Kakanda/Village head Alhaji Abdulkadir Maigari.

He maintained that the current Development, especially in view of the prevailing Insecurity, if not tackled early may result into communal crisis.

The petitioners allege that the crisis stemmed from the Village head’s decision to mark his five-year tenure and use a trumpet during festivals, generating high tension between the Amana Kakanda Village head and the Lapai Emirates.

He further stated that it resulted in police intervention where he was asked to write undertaking, and despite the Village head’s compliance with all the directives, he was still arrested.

Comr. Mustapha, therefore, called upon the governor to intervene swiftly, emphasizing their belief in his ability to resolve the dispute amicably.

Despite attempts to reach Commissioner Mu’azu and the police spokesperson, Wasiu Abiodun, for clarification, no response was received as at the time of this report.
