The appointment of a new Chairman and Commissioners for the Niger State Electricity Regulatory Commission was recently confirmed by the Niger State House of Assembly.
The confirmation followed an executive correspondence from Farmer Governor Mohammed Umar Bago, which was read recently by Speaker, Rt. Hon. Barr. (Dr) Muhammad Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji during the plenary session.
According to the Speaker, Farmer Governor Bago exercised his powers under the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (1999, as amended) to forward the names of the appointees for confirmation.
The confirmed appointees are:
– *Chairman*: Engr. Dr. Mohammed Sharu, FNSE (Bida)
– *Commissioner Enforcement and Consumer Affairs*: Engr. Dr. Maiwada S. Bello FNSE (Paikoro)
– *Commissioner, Licensing and Regulations*: Dr. Muhammad Ameen Shakur (Bida)
-Commissioner Rural Electricity Access Management*: Engr. Jiro Ahmed Mohammed MNSE (Kontagora)
– *Commissioner, Finance and Administration*: Adamu Nagogo (Chanchaga)
The Speaker congratulated the appointees and urged them to bring their wealth of experience to bear in the discharge of their responsibilities for the overall development of Niger State.
