A 400 level student of the Nassarawa State University, Gabriel David has been arrested by the State Police Command for allegedly raping a 100- level student of the same Institution.
The Nassarawa State Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO), DSP Rahman Nansel, made this known while speaking with Journalist in Lafia.
According Nansel, the suspect was arrested by the police operatives attached to Agwan Lambu Division close to the State University in Keffi Local Government Area of the State.
Speaking further, he said” preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect travelled to the village where him and the Victim came from. So the Victim’s parent gave the suspect some foodstuffs to be handed over to the Victim since they are schooling in the same institution.
When the suspect brought the food items, he called the victim to come over to his place of residence to collect the foodstuffs sent by the parent.
“On her arrival, he lured the victim into his room and forcefully had a canal knowledge her.
” The State PPRO further explained that upon his arrest, the suspect was immediately transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Departments in Lafia where he confessed to Committing the crime
He will be charged to Court upon the conclusion of investigation into the matter.
