SIX NIGERIAN SOLDIERS DISMISS FOR THEFT AND SELLING OF ARMS

The 3 Division of the Nigerian Army (NA) in his has dismissed six Soldiers over alleged criminal activities in Pleatau.

The President of the Court – Martial , Liafis Bello while delivering the Judgement on Thursday, said Four of the personnel were arrested and another Four sanctioned for various crimes

Speaking further, Bello said during trial the officers were found guilty to have committed crimes like theft, Selling of arms, criminal conspiracy among others.

He pointed out that the Judgement was in line with the provision of the 1999 constitution as amended, Armed Forces Act( Rules of Procedure)1972 and other extant law.

It will be recalled that on February 17, this Court was Convened by the Major- General Abdulsalam Abubakar, General Officer Commanding this Division” Bello declared

” Court Martial in the Nigeria Army is a routine duty aimed at ensuring strict compliance which dictates of the Military justice system.

“Since then, the Court has been working and today it has declared Judgement on eight Cases

The Court- Martial President said the six dismissed Soldiers, who are corporals and Sergeant, were demoted to the ranks of private Soldiers.
