Thousands of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) Supporters in Kano State have switched their allegiance to the New Nigeria People’s Party( NNPP).
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Deputy Governor’s spokesperson, Ibrahim Garba, where he expressed his Principal’s ( Deputy Governor) enthusiasm in greeting the New NNPP members.
The group of defectors where are from Shanon and Bagwai Local Government Areas of Kano State, were later welcomed officially into NNPP by the Deputy Governor, Aminu Abudusalm Gwarzo, representing Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf at the Kano State Government House.
During the event, Alhaji Haruna Babangida Abbas( Kosashe), who led the group of defectors explained that their decision to join the NNPP was Influenced by Governor Abba’s Leadership qualities and governance approach. He therefore expressed regret over their prior allegiance to the APC.
Responding, Kano State NNPP Chairman, Alhaji Hashimu Dungurawa, welcomed the new members and assured them they would be fully involved in the party activities.
He however invited others from various political parties, including the APC, to consider joining the NNPP for the State’s progress.
The gathering was attended by key officials including the Kano State Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Alhaji Suleiman Shannon along several other NNPP stakeholders.
