WORKS COMMISSIONER INSPECTS ONGOING PROJECTS IN MINNA ASSURES NIGERLITES OF MORE PROJECTS..

Niger State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructural development, Hon.Suleiman Umar has expressed optimism that the New Niger dream of Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago aimed at improving infrastructures across the state is progressing steadily and effectively.

Hon.Suleiman Umar gave this assurance when he led the project monitoring team support by his colleagues of Ministry of Planning Commission, Mustapha NDAJIWO, to inspect all the ongoing road projects in Minna the state capital recently.

The Commissioner of Works and Infrastructural Development disclosed that the contractors handling various road projects were on course and them to keep the tempo the need for timely delivery of the projects

Speaking further, Umar noted that state government under the dynamic leadership of Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago is poised to change the narrative by improving infrastructure across the state.

On the Minna- Bida road project, the Commissioner expressed disappointment over the slow pace of the project and warned that government would not hesitate to deal with any contractor found breaching contractual terms, adding that state government will soon take necessary measures to address the challenges confronting the Minna- Bida road project.

“It is quite disheartening that the Minna- Bida Road project which was awarded by the preceding administration with a down payment of about 67% was still at 40% completion,I have invited the contractor for discussion”. Commissioner said.

On their separate submissions,the project manager and project consultant,Dantata and Sawoe, Naafey Bin Shaukat and Engineer Ibrahim Baba Musa, regretted the slow pace of the project and promised that the company would do all it could to resume back to site soonest.

In his contribution, the Commissioner for Planning Commission, Hon.Mustspha Ndajiwo stressed that the era of collecting contract mobilization and go to sleep was gone,and vowed to sanction any contractor who tries out smarting the Government

However, .Ndajiwo expressed satisfaction with the contractors handling various road projects,noting that with the level and quality of work done so far,New Niger vision was achievable.

The Commissioner for Planning Commission then enjoined all the contractors presently on site to maintain the tempo towards delivering quality work in order to justify the confidence reposed in them by the state government.

He urged Nigerlites to support the government in its programmes and policies aimed at improving the social economic status of the citizens.

Projects inspected by the monitoring team included Chanchaga Dual Carriage Way,Leprosy Road,Tagwai Dam Road, Maitumbi Bypass Road,Kola Wale Road as well as Minna-Bida Road among others.

Some residents and road users that spoke to Journalists lauded governor Mohammed Umaru Bago for his giant strides since he assumed office and assured of support and prayers to government programmes and policies so as to enable him succeed.
